What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is the state of focused attention and inward concentration. Often, it is referred to as an altered state of consciousness or trance.  The mind that is focused can easily tap into, assess, and make use of its own resources; which is important in making personal changes.  While in hypnotherapy, individuals learn how to self-hypnotize and use more of their potential; gaining self-control.

What is the Hypnotic state or Trance like?
Everyone has experienced a hypnotic state, though many may not identify it as such.  In fact, most enter in and out of this state, throughout the day.  Examples of this include; highway hypnosis- arriving at your destination, though you cannot remember making the correct turns or getting off at the correct exit, or becoming absorbed or focused in your own thoughts, tv, or book- in these events you may notice that you are so concentrated on the activity that you are unaware of things going on around you, or of someone trying to get your attention.

Benefits of Hypnotherapy
All hypnosis is self-hypnois; meaning the client is in full control of thier hypnotic experience, and becomes more practiced in achieving a focused and concentrated mind state; with each therapy visit and at home practice of self-hypnosis. The hypnotherapist will instruct the client in how to best achieve the trance on thier own. With increased exposure and practice with the hypnotic state, the client can expect to maximize thier results for positive change.
